If individuals and families are in need of assistance with:

  • Partial rent, with demand/eviction notice, and/or,
  • Utility bills, with shut-off or disconnect notice

If you are seeking burial/cremation assistance for an individual who died in Douglas County, was low-income, and was not on Medicaid, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), Old Age Pension (OAP), or Aid to the Needy Disabled (AND) at the time of death, please contact our office at 303-688-4825.

No reimbursements can be made for costs already paid.

How do I apply for burial assistance?

To apply you must complete an application for burial assistance. You can call our office at 303-688-4825 to request an application be mailed or emailed or you can pick one up at one of our locations, 4400 Castleton Court, Castle Rock or 200 E. Highlands Ranch Pkwy, Suite 101, Highlands Ranch.

The application must be fully completed and signed. Applicants may need to speak with a member of our staff to review the information on the application and provide additional information or documentation.

After you complete the application, you can scan and email it to [email protected] or mail or bring it to our office at 4400 Castleton Court, Castle Rock, CO 80109. It can also be delivered in person to our Highlands Ranch location, at 200 E. Highlands Ranch Pkwy, Suite 101, Highlands Ranch, CO 80136.

Additional forms or verification may be needed, in addition to the application.

What are the income limits?

The income limit for this program is 150% Federal Poverty Level.

In 2026, that equates to:

One (1) household member:

  • $1,995 gross monthly income

Two (2) household members

  • $2,705 gross monthly income

Three (3) household members

  • $3,415 gross monthly income

Four (4) household members

  • $4,125 gross monthly income

Five (5) household members

  • $4,835 gross monthly income

Six (6) household members

  • $5,545 gross monthly income

Seven (7) household members

  • $6,255 gross monthly income

Eight (8) household members

  • $6,6,965 gross monthly income

*For each additional household member after eight, add $710.
