Notice for property owners: The Douglas County Assessor’s Office will release Real Property Notices of Value on May 1, 2026, and begin hearing valuation appeals the same day.

Homeowners and other property owners who wish to object to their property valuation can submit written objections by mail or file online until June 8.

Appeals for business personal property start June 15, 2026, and must be delivered or postmarked by June 30, 2026.

Only properties with a change in value, change in use, or a change in ownership will receive these notices, which is less than 10% of Douglas County property owners.

In-person meetings are encouraged if taxpayers have questions about their assessment, which can be scheduled online.

The Assessor’s Office—located at 301 Wilcox Street, Castle Rock—is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

More information about valuations, appeals, and scheduling is available on the Douglas County Assessor’s webpage https://www.douglasco.gov/assessor/ or by calling 303-660-7450
