Be Part of the Solution to Homelessness in Douglas County

Addressing homelessness is a community-wide effort, and your involvement makes a difference. Whether you’re a business owner, a nonprofit leader or simply someone who cares, there are many ways to support our neighbors experiencing homelessness in Douglas County.

Douglas Has Heart

In Douglas County, we believe in transforming generosity into real solutions. The Douglas Has Heart campaign is designed to support individuals experiencing homelessness. This program encourages citizens to channel their generosity into meaningful, lasting impact by donating directly to trusted local organizations.

Every dollar donated through Douglas Has Heart goes entirely to organizations providing essential services like food, shelter and case management. Together, these organizations form a united network that tackles homelessness from all angles, addressing immediate needs and paving the path toward long-term stability. Please note that gifts made through the link below are not tax-deductible.

The Douglas County Homeless Initiative welcomes community involvement through regular meetings and collaborative partnerships.

DCHI Executive Committee

The Executive Committee provides leadership, coordination and strategic direction for the County’s efforts to prevent and reduce homelessness. Comprised of representatives from local government, law enforcement, nonprofit service providers, faith-based organizations, healthcare and the business community, the committee meets every other month (beginning Nov. 13, 2025) to review data, share updates, evaluate progress and guide implementation of the County’s homelessness response. The committee ensures that solutions are collaborative, transparent and aligned with the needs of the community.
