Spring is back, and so is water recreation at Rueter-Hess Reservoir. Grab your paddle and your lifejacket and get ready to hit the water starting Saturday, March 28.

Water recreation will be available Fridays through Mondays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. through October. Approved watercrafts include paddleboards, canoes, kayaks, river pontoons, johnboats, and fishing watercrafts equipped with electric trolling motors.

Parking is limited, and a reservation is required. Be sure to reserve your all-day parking pass online before you arrive.

Paddleboard and kayak rentals will be available starting in late May.

To ensure the best day possible, there are some things you should know:

Planning to fish? Be sure to review all applicable rules and regulations before your visit.

Using an electric trolling motor? Keep these rules in mind:

Whether you’re looking for a peaceful paddle, a day of fishing, or just an excuse to get outside, Rueter-Hess Reservoir is ready to welcome you back.

Be aware of upcoming trail closures at Rueter-Hess Reservoir!

From Monday, March 30, through Wednesday, April 1, several areas at Rueter-Hess Reservoir will be temporarily closed for maintenance:

Visit the Rueter-Hess Reservoir webpage to reserve your pass and start planning your day on the water.
