2050 Douglas County Water Plan

The 2050 Comprehensive Douglas County Water Plan is a forward-looking initiative designed to ensure a dependable and sustainable water supply for generations to come. Led by the Water Commission and developed in collaboration with local water providers, this plan lays the groundwork for long-term strategic water planning by evaluating current water supplies, analyzing demand and identifying actionable strategies to meet future needs. As Douglas County continues to grow, understanding how water supply and demand will evolve is critical to maintaining the quality of life and economic vitality of our communities.

This plan is not just a technical document—it’s a community-driven effort. Your input will help shape the strategies that guide our water future. By participating in this process, you’re helping to build a stronger, more resilient Douglas County and one where water remains a reliable resource for all. Project Schedule

The planning process will take approximately 18 months and will focus on all unincorporated areas of Douglas County. It will also provide data and information to incorporated areas and water providers to identify opportunities for collaboration and partnership.
